You’ll need a long belt or non-stretchy scarf for this exercise. It’s not a traditional yoga posture, but by bringing our arms up and behind us it’s a good way to open up across the front of the shoulders and across the chest, counteracting exactly the forward movement of the arms and inward rotation of the shoulders which playing many instruments (and working at a computer, as I’m sure many of you spend a lot of your time doing that too!) involves. Keep breathing whilst doing these stretches to help move the energy around your body and stimulate your nervous system.
Always listen to your body when doing stretches and don't push too far. You shouldn't feel any pain whilst getting in to a stretch or yoga posture. If you do come out of the pose.
